 FAQs

  • For a full meal we suggest 8oz of protein per person. Full trays contain 10lbs, so this would be about 20 servings of protein.

    2-3 protein options plus 3-4 side options offers a great variety of choices for most events.

  • We kindly ask for 72 hours notice for all catering orders. We fill up fast on Holiday weekends so reach out early if you know you would like to order then.

  • Yep! Delivery fees are calculated on the distance between the delivery site and our home base at 1601 Payne St in Evanston.

    1-5 Miles: $25 via DoorDash or $50 in-house delivery

    6-10 Miles: $75 in-house delivery and an additional $25 for setup

    11+ Miles: $100 for in-house delivery + $25 for setup and $25 for every additional 5 miles

  • Many of our items are gluten free, and we have several delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes.

    That said, due to the handcrafted nature of our items and our local purveyors, we cannot guarantee no cross contamination. All common allergens are present in our facility.

  • We require a 48 hour notice for any changes to catering orders. Additions made less than 48 hours in advance will be accommodated if possible, but a rush fee may be added.

    If you need to cancel your order, we require 72 hours notice to be refunded or credited in full. Orders cancelled between 24-72 hours prior to the event day will receive a 50% refund or partial credit, and orders cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will NOT be refunded, but we are happy to donate your items to the 24/7 community fridge.

  • Soul & Smoke is no longer accepting gratuities. We instead use a service charge:

    8% at our counter service restaurants and for pick up/drop off catering orders

    18% at food truck events and for full service catering and dining

    (For restaurant delivery, tip goes to the 3rd party driver)

    The service charge is pooled and goes directly to our employees, split by hours worked. We will not accept additional gratuities on top of this fee.

    We made this move in an effort to move away from the negative foundations of tipping. If you have any questions or would like the service charge removed from your bill, just let us know.
